5- MALWARBYTES

detects all those commercial nasties out there– essential

Get all five of the above, and you will be as well insulated
against malicious crap & kids, as possible.

I haven’t had a problem since I started using all these.

You have to run CCLEANER, yourself, periodically; I run it 2 or 3 times a day.
It only takes a few seconds.

AVIRA runs a shield while you’re on the Net, but you should run a “Full Scan”
at least once a week. It can take an hour or more, so start it and just before a movie, or going to bed.

COOKIE WALL will ask you what you want to do every time a cookie shows up; ACCEPT this cookie “Always. “Never,” or “Just this one time.”

Some Cookies are beneficial, essential, even, like the ones that member your ID so you can go to another page and come back without having to Log In again.

Also, “session” cookies, or “PREF” cookies remember you’re on site, and what preferences you chose, so you want to keep them, for now, and if that site is one you visit often, keep it permanently.

For a few Weeks it’s annoying as hell to be asked yes/no/never every time you go somewhere, but that’ll stop after you get all the bricks in your cookie wall!

SANDBOXIE is a very effective second line of defense against malicious stuff.

Right-click on your browser and choose “Run Sandboxed,” and a yellow line will border your screen to let you know Sandboxie is active.

It works great at preventing the kids’ biggest goofs.

you can run any icon on your system “sandboxed,” so teach the kids how to use it, and insist they
ALWAYS use Sandboxie on EVERYTHING,
or you’ll cut them OFF!

If you run Malwarebytes before running Avira, Avira takes a little less time to finish.

Remember malware isn’t a virus, so viruses can sometimes get passed over– It’s a good idea to run
BOTH  Malwarebytes and Avira.
