OPTICS

A scaffold to the sky won’t give you that closer look you seek,
so try one of these devices:
DO NOT SCORN EVEN THE SMALLEST  OF OPTICAL AIDS!
THEY CAN REVEAL WONDERS TO YOU.
TAKE A  LOOK INSIDE  SOME OPTICAL DEVICES:

I use these Galileo 2060 binoculars and

this Meade RB-60 refractor, these days.

 –
These 20×60 binoculars are powerful,
and require a tripod for steady viewing.
10 X 50 binoculars are terrific, too,  and
are often available at Kmart or Walmart for under $50.
The 60 mm (2.5 inch) telescope below is enough to get you hooked:

I used the 6″ reflector shown below for years,

and highly recommend this type of telescope

for beginners and experienced gazers, alike.

The 5 inch reflector below is at the top of my Wish List.

Scopes like this are available for under $150!

(The two guidance knobs are a big help in the absense of a motor.)

  1. […] Ok, I still want to know what a typical day in Tahiti is like, and what commuting is like in Bangkok. If the app was used in the right way – as how it is supposed to be – I can imagine a lot of positive cultural exchanges in the future here. Virtual experiences of a stranger’s life in another cultural context could help people overcome prejudices and discrimination based on cultural or racial differences. Ok, maybe I’m going too far. 2. Love to use the image illustrating “Do not scorn the smallest of optical aids” to promote a couple of opera lectures at our library this summer. Permission granted? Thanks!
