SKY-MAPS

If you can find a star-globe like this, snatch it up.
They are real useful and looks ultimately cool around the house!
A more practical tool is a “Planisphere, though,
because of its portability and date-ability:
Simply dial to your date and time to see your sky.
You can get one of these for under $20 at a bookstore.
Below is a screenshot of a FREEWARE PLANISPHERE
I’ve been using for years;  a small 1.5 meg program, but very handy:
Set it for your latitude, and you can export images
and make a hand held version, too.

I just use the computer version for a glimpse of what’s out tonight!
I like to use the maps generated by NSO in the UK.
These maps don’t have lines, but are great for finding planets.

ASTRO-VIEWER is a nice little online daily map source:

The YOUR SKY  map is a

little more involved to operate:

You’ll like the control, though; try it at  YOUR SKY

The Las Cruces, NM Astronomical Society

has a good night sky map: HERE

STELLARIUM is the best planetarium software I’ve found:

Hard to believe it’s FREEWARE;

get STELLARIUM. (41 mb)
